The purpose of the Lighthouse Team is to institutionalize The Leader in Me model inside the school so that it stays strong and vibrant year after year. The team members are the champions of the process. We call them The Lighthouse Team because they coordinate the school-wide work needed to achieve and maintain Lighthouse status. Each person has an assigned role to support the process, creating a cadence of accountability. The Lighthouse Team members ensure that everyone's voice is heard. Our Staff Lighthouse Team is in place, meets regularly, and oversees school-wide implementation plan of the leadership model. The team implements key initiatives focused on engaging students, staff, parents, and community members in the school's leadership model, orients new staff to The Leader in Me process, and ensures they are trained in the 7 Habits. The team members also provide ongoing professional development around The Leader in Me to ensure high fidelity and sustainability. Lastly, the members of the Staff Lighthouse Team also provide orientations and workshops to parents on The Leader in Me Process and the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Being a member of the Lighthouse Team is a great way to become more engaged in The Leader in Me process. It requires time but the rewards are many!
